Two very contrasting reactions..

Why Women Are So Special.

Mum and Dad were watching TV when Mum said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed."
She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.
Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box
levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.
She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button.
She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.
She wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put it near her bag.
Mum then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night Solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth.
Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."
"I'm on my way," she said.
She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the outside light was on.
She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and radios, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.
In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack.
She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list.
She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed." And he did...Without another thought.
Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?'CAUSE THEY ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL....(and they can't die sooner, they still have things to do!!!!)

Call me feminist but a girlfriend got this on her bb yesterday and she went "Awww, this is soo cute, Ginger let me forward it to you"
I read it and I went "Aaarghh!! This is wickedness"

Two very contrasting reactions. I think I am becoming a rabid feminist......lol.

But hey, to you my Mommy and Wifey friends out there who are working, tending babies and running homes so smoothly, You are truly, truly special!!

And don’t forget to remind your husband what a lucky man he is!!

  2. You are not becoming a feminist oh....you are a realist

There's really no need for a woman to take over ALL the housework. A man should do his bit also.

This woman in the 'story' is likely to live long .............but have high BP :)))

As for me, I would have got the man to do some chores......Body no be firewood oh! LOL

  4. Proverbs 31 woman though.... BUT what a man? Why can't he show her some L♥√ع ? Well most men these days help with the chores at least I live with one :)

  5. LOL @ Naijamum's comment on high BP. Even if she doesn't have high BP, she may just break down one day... And that won't be cute.

  6. That cartoon sums up my comment...lol...babe, you are not a rabid feminist oh! That is y u see some women looking older than their age bcos they over-work themselves in the name of wifely duties. I mean, should chip in their bit..haba!

  7. lol@Honeydame - e be like say ooo. it's notoff tanget, i actually wondered for 5 secs what cleanser that was.

@NIL - high bp no be small..from all the resentment if not stress

@Gretel - I don foregt wifely duties. Tomorrow now he go begin chase another woman saying she doesnt satisfy him.

@Enybees-hub - Lucky you at having a loving and helpful husband. That's it, the Bible also asks that the man loves his wife as he loves himself. If he understands how to put up his legs and relax then he should endeavour to see his wife gets some 'me' time too.

@OS - You got it. You got to praise women really.

@Vyvyka - My dear studies show that the greatest ager of women is the number of kids they've had. Studies also show that men benefit more from marriage - less stress, increased longevity than women....smh. It's a man's world :(

  11. Abeg, they should share the work jooo. Me, I have told my oga that when we get married, he'll be helping me a little with the housework o. I can do 70% while he does 30%, not that I will do every single thing

  12. What wickedness indeed jare. The work should be shared! Feminism helps us see the gender roles for what they are. So I say yay for your feminist trumpet as I blow mine along with you. Lol.

  13. I commend the strength of a woman. I love the post.

  14. This particular woman is a superwoman o. And so organized too to remember everything. I believe the chores in the house should be shared. Afterall everyone is going out for the cheese now. I love the cartoon.

  16. Indeed, I can so relate this to my Mum and fiancee. They can take forever on a simple thing. When we're reading and set to go somewhere, Mum is checking if the gas cooker has been turned off; if we left pots on the cooker and some other things I term silly while Dad is horning away in the car.

My fiancee too.. in fact, dont get me started on that one. haha

  17. Women may be called the weaker vessels but we're the stronger arm, the better planner, the more efficient manager, the home maker.... to be contd.

  18. Women are stronger than men. But we still let them carry the heavy stuff. Always remember that part and you'll do fine, Ginger.

  19. lol love them both - we women eh? our work never ends!! always something to do but men just never get it!

  20. lol @ the cartoon. Men nowadays need to help out. its no longer like the old days of our parents. Yeah, naturally, the woman is inclined to want to do these things but truth is she cant do it alone. the men need to get up and help too. Most modern husbands are realizing this so its all good.

  22. It isn't easy oh. Yet I see this happening everday in different homes. I've said this before and I will say it again, wives and mothers I salute you.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow..women are truly special..Motherhood na fulltime job o.

    ReplyDelete
  24. you summed it well...thus, we age faster, hbp is like common sachet pure water now! when the wife lies like a log of wood on the bed, husband complains and runs into the hands of an idle mistress! well, as for me, i had stopped ironing clothes, do the laundry anytime i like, my kids sweep, wash the dishes and do the dusting. while i do the rest at my own convenience which can be in the night! i no send again abegii! if my house dirty, then make no visitor or relation come again o jare! SHIKENAH!...hehehehe

  25. So funny and so true. And yes, you wave that feminist flag, girlfriend!

    ReplyDelete
  26. LOL @ it being wickedness. I have tire to complain. Who am I to change the world? I can only pray that my husband (whom I am yet to marry, of course) is truly my other half and I can, by God's grace, bring my sons up to do the same for their wives in the future.
